Growing up at Priest Lake
The snow gets pretty deep in that country, about 6' that year, the winter of 1956-7.
I'm the little guy, my sister Vickie is holding me. I'm not the four legged one on the ground.
First picture is taken around the first of March. I am standing on the snow unscrewing the yard light.
The second is me doing the same thing again in the spring.
Notice I'm on the 6th rung of the ladder.
We had to build those outhouses pretty tall in that country.
HOME
This was the meadow at the Hannah Ranch where I lived until I was 7. The pump house can barely be seen in the lower right.
From Lakeview Mt. looking toward Coolin.
Lion Cr. 1960
Thats me at 7 years of age waving from between the cedar trees. Notice how they grew out of a tree that tipped over the creek when the bank was washed away.

HOME
Some strange growing trees near Armstrong Meadows, along the Thorafare between Priest Lake and Upper Priest Lake.
That is a rootwad in the boat from a cedar that had been washed out of the river bank on Upper Priest River. It had washed ashore on Upper Priest Lake and remained there for many years. We sawed it off of the log and loaded it in the boat, it was a yard ornament at our home on Priest Lake for many years. It then was taken to Blanchard and was the center piece of our circle drive for many more years. It now is in our yard in Spokane. That was our 1960 Richline boat with a 75 hp Evinrude and a 7 1/2 hp Evinrude.
The baby burro named Pamper was found in the Granite Cr. area after it's mother was shot. It was a late foal as this picture was taken at Christmas time. She was raised in the house, and  used to stand between the barrel heater and the wall, she loved the heat.
This is the home that replaced the cabin with the pyramid roof. Was built in 1965 and sold in 1980. The home to the right of it was purchased then and is still in the Joyce family.
The cabin with the pyramid roof was my home from 1960 to 1965.
